Does anybody on here have or seen any of these new units yet? Just curious as to what price point these units where going to be.
 
Have some on my lot...I'll even part with one;)
Shuttle with a loader for around $16,500

Only one problem with that I'm a ways away from you lol. I had a local dealer give me that price on a 3316 last week
 
Are the 3 pt arms telescoping on the mahindra's like the kioti or bobcats?

Many dealers have them in stock now. I really like the tractor. The ML115 loader is also very nice, with a lift capacity of about 1650 lbs. The tractor is comfortable to operate and built very well. I'd recommend you buy two of them. :D
 
just curious as to why are they discontinuing the 2816? would you try to find a 2816 or pass for the 3016

The 2816 has been around, in various forms and with various nomenclature for around a decade. It is getting a little dated regarding it's features and specs. Some things are minor like rubber floormats vs the perforated steel, newer style lights, telescoping sway bars instead of turnbuckles, etc. On the flip side, the 2816 it is a tried and true model, and has always been a high volume seller. The big advantage to the 3016 is loader lift capacity. The 2816 is a very adequate 1035 lbs, the 3016 is 1650. On the gear models, the 30 is a shuttle, the 28 is not. On the HST, the 30 uses a newer style pump that is a little quiter and smoother, like the current 3316. However, a good deal on a 2816 should certainly be considered. It's a rock solid tractor. We started February with 9 2816's remaining at our place, and we are down to 3...so act fast or they will be gone at your local dealer as well. I would not hesitate to go with the 28, unless you are lifting really heavy stuff with the FEL on a regular basis.
 
Hey Dave thanks for all the info wish you were here in the midwest...As a general question is there much of a price increase from the 2816 to the 3016? Im assuming the 3016 is still a mitsibushi product? Meaning powerplant.

I know you asked Dave, but it is Sunday and I have some time so I saw your post. I can only say that the price increase is very modest and well paid for by the increased loader lift capacity and other amenities, as Dave mentioned above.

Entirely Mitsubishi tractor, not just the engine like some other brands. The tractor is a few hundred more, the loader is also more. Combined it's just a modest increase. But also consider that most dealers are applying some discounts to the 2816. All combined, the spread between the 28 and 30 still makes the 2816 a good deal. It's not really an easy call.
 
Hey Guys thanks for the quick replies...The wife gave a go ahead for a tractor after dealing with all the snow and gulley washed out driveways....Time to go visit the dealers...Honestly I really like the Mahindra line over the other colors, I just wish there were more Mahindra dealers around the kc area...Its 60 to 70 miles to the closest dealer from me..Like you already know dealer support is VERY important ...And I dont know how this dealer is..guess its time to take a look and find out....
 
well was out of town for a few days and happen to come across a Mahindra dealer..Took a look at the 3016...Sweet..Liked the new 3pt set up with the adjustable arms....I have a pretty elementary question though...2 options ...Shuttle shift/Independant pto or Hst/live pto..Im use to the ford 8n with the transmission direct to the pto so this will be new to me...On the independant pto does the pto keep spinning at operating seed when I shuttle from forward to reverse, like stopping to back up with a brush hog? I really dont understand the difference between the 2..Thanks for the replies:)

Yes, the PTO continues to operate on the shuttle regardless of gear choice, clutch engagement, etc. It just does it's own thing, unrelated to forward or back motion of the tractor. The HST does the same thing since you can bring forward or backward travel to a stop without using the clutch, so the PTO just runs along unaware of travel. Different methods, but both are effectively independent. On an 8N, the PTO had to be engaged to lift the 3-point. Not so on any of the modern tractors. The hydraulics are live all the time. Hope this helps.
 
ok great so in a panic situation to shut down the pto just move the pto lever correct? also is the pto lever activating a electric swithc to engage and disengage the pto? Thanks I know it sounds pretty stupid to ask these questions, but Im just trying to get a better Idea of the system operation
 
When I bought my 3215HST, the pto engagement was one of the big pluses for me. I like to be able to engage the PTO with a clutch, not the solenoid push button that the shuttle has. I prefer manual engagement any day over the solenoid hydraulic engagement.

On a gear drive you would hit the PTO button pushing it down and that would shut it off. On an HST you would push in the clutch. The PTO lever engages the PTO shaft to the clutch, but it is faster in an emergency situation to disengage the clutch.

I'll explain all of this when I deliver it to you :laughing:. But I guess that would be a long haul.

On the HST on a panic PTO situation, depress the clutch to stop travel and PTO. On the shuttle, just slap the bright yellow PTO button and it shuts off.
