Using a bush hog and FEL with my 2013 3038E to clear some overgrowth yesterday. While pushing a pile of brush a large log (abt 12 inches diameter) popped out over the bucket, slide down the hood and hit the steering wheel hard. After clearing the log I drove home. First noticed that the throttle did not allow speed to be reduced to idle, but did not appear to be bent. However, the steering wheel and entire dash was loose and could be moved a bit. No other damage apparent. I assume there are some bolts holding the dash on that have been damaged, but can't see them and can't find diagrams online that tell me what the problem might be.

Any suggestions?

Diagrams are free here:

You're just going to have to start taking things apart to see what's broken. Hard for us to help remotely, especially with no pics.
Pictures look like nothing happened. There are no dents or any visible damage, just the steering wheel and dash are loose. I can't see much with the diagrams so you're right, I'll just have to take it apart.

Never lift anything up that may roll back toward the operator. Your lucky the steering wheel stopped the log. could have been much worse. Glad you weren't injured.

Tear into it and find the issue at hand. It should be pretty easy to find the bent items/brackets or stretched out bolts. More than likely the steering column mount/bracket has been bent downward or moved on the locating bolt holes. If it got bent you can use a jack to straighten it back up.

To avoid this problem in the future you can weld two pieces of square stock on the backside of your bucket. Find two more pieces that will slide into those for uprights. I use my forks or my grapple for doing that kind of work.
