Farmernot, I re-read your post and see you mention the level (should be lever, not pedal) is down. In the down position (per the manual and my very frequent use of it) the FWD is NOT engaged.Farmer-not said:Thanks for the reply. The blue pedal/lever is what I've been fiddling around with. Better to have it stuck in 4WD than 2WD, I guess.
If the FWD is engaged as you say, it sounds as if the linkage may not be attached. Something to fix when the snow is all gone, but it couldn't hurt to look. See if you can pull UP on the lever - maybe it's not in FWD after all. The only way you could be sure the front wheels are engaging would be to have all four wheels off the ground and see if a front one spins. Unless someone else has a better suggestion.
