The buyers of our house want to include my B1750HST in the sale. It will be sad after 20 years, but then it gives me the opportunity to buy something a bit bigger - around the 30 to 35 HP mark - and also another hydro with a loader. Usage will remain as now, mostly mowing with cultivation, wood processing and loader work as required.
I want something like a used B3030 - sadly the B2910/2920 were never sold in UK - and both it and smaller B2710 are very hard to find. So, I looked to the smaller 'L' series models.
However, Kubota have a habit of selling different models in UK against US and whilst there are about 6 'L' (not GL40) models in US with three transmission options on each, here there are two - L3200 and L4100 with only the L4100 in HST. Few of the earlier L models have HST either.
However, we do have another range in between the B and L - the ST/STV series. These are currently STV 32, 36 and 40 HP HST models - although I was looking at the earlier ST 30 and 35 HP models (second hand).
Kubota (U.K.) Limited - STV Series (latest models)
KUBOTA EUROPE SASST30 alpha (older models - sorry, it's in French - the English link does not work)
These seem to be readily available second hand with loaders (essential) and mid decks (not essential) - and with both R1 and turf tyres.
Apart from the reduced loader capacity (they tend to have the LA350 or LA400 loaders on) can anyone spot any other issues with these machines?
Any thoughts on the earlier 4 cylinder 30 HP engine vs the newer 3 cylinder 30 and 35 HP engines?
Could they actually just be 'L' series with different decals? (although Kubota do assemble Europe specific models in Germany, like the KX61, to meet local legislation).
Not looking to change brands.
Thanks in advance for thoughts,
Julian
