Great photo, Don. I really like the colors. It looks a bit dry though, how is your pond? I don't remember if it's spring fed or not. I have one that's dry, one that's a puddle, and the lake is down about 5'. That's over half the water gone...pretty depressing, but not the worst I've seen it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Jim, it is dry here also. We haven't had any water runoff for about 3 months and the ponds are down about three feet. I do have one small spring pond that stays at the same level. The ponds got topped off in the spring so it is still far from critical. With the rainy season (December-April) approaching things will be getting wetter. I planted 150# of rye grass on the sand trails for erosion control, wildlife and looks. As soon as the first rain comes the trails will be green and happy. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh, I did think of you the other day as I was box blading the cow tracks on the bank of the pond and got stuck. It looked dry. Luckily The diff lock got me out, but it was a bit scary watching the tire go below the level of the water. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

TxDon

Sorry to be late in offering our congratulations but this is a forum I don't usually watch. I am sure that you and Karen will enjoy what awaits you.

I am still on dial-up but am thinking seriously about wireless broadband. I can reach a tower with a 40-50' antenna mast so that is not a problem. I was looking at Texas Broadband's coverage but it looks like their tower at Caldwell is the closest. It would take a fortunate set of circumstances; elevation at your antenna, elevation at their tower and elevation of intervening geography for you to get line-of-sight. It is hard to estimate distance from their crude map but signal strength even with lots of amplification would still be too low for a reliable connection. Satellite is probably your best bet.

Again, welcome to the club.

I have to say that I'm stuck with dial-up due to costs. We were spoiled in town with highspeed. I've grown accustomed somewhat. You have to exersize a lot of patience, turn off the bells and whistles(people's small photos etc..) and run two pages of internet explore simultaneously. Reading one whilst the other is downloading.

Good luck and keep us posted, Welcome back to country lifestyle.
