Hey gang, wanted to see if i could get some suggestions from the collective. For some reason the 3pt with the mower deck on it, when i have it suspended it is leaking down quick and of course it picks it up right away, it is really annoying and I know it wasn't doing it before.

no opinions on this yet?

Well I have been trying to figure out what the problem is but I still have no idea. The 3pt leaks down pretty quick, if I raise it all the way with the mower deck and shut the tractor off it will completely lower within approx 2 minutes, leaks down quicker the higher it is then once it is about 1/2 way down it kinda slows up, with it leaking down it means one thing to me and that would be signs of a hydraulic leak but I can't find any leaks, possibly an air leak where it is sucking air into the line letting it down? I'd rather not have vto haul it to the dealer but I guess I might as well have it covered under warranty.

There should be a knob just below the seat that controls the 3PH rate of drop. Look for this in your manual. Unfortunately, there isn't an on line manual at this time.

Anyway, look for that rate of drop knob and turn it to a slower rate (you'll probably see the rabbit and turtle labels for direction of turning). Can't guarantee that will fix it, but that's the first thing I'd try...

I agree with Roy... The knob will hace a turtle and bunny.

Its there, just hiding, I'll post the link tomorrow...

Thanks for the suggestion but I already tried it, if I set it slower it still does it just not as fast and if I set it to slow then I have to wait too long for it to drop when I need to raise it to back up and drop it back down.

A three point hitch leaking down is almost always caused by a problem in the rockshaft control valve. A check in that valve normally keeps the hitch from leaking down. Even a small piece of contamination could prevent the check from seating properly. Most likely your dealer will change the whole valve and be done with it.

I have a very heavy bush hog finish mower (around 600 lbs) and it'll stay up for hours and I think i left it up accidentally overnight and it was still up. Mine doesn't drop at all from what I've seen so far. As far as what's causing yours to drop, the others here might be better able to answer that than me. All I can say it it's not normal because mine (4120) will not drop/leak down.

There's also supposed to be check valve in that system, but I couldn't find it on the Deere parts web site...not enough time to investigate. If that check valve is leaking, that could cause your problem.
A while back, there were threads about the 3PH problems similar to yours on some 4300's or 4310's. The check valve was the problem there.

Your tractor must still be in warranty...have you contacted your dealer?
