I'm in the process of finalizing a 3130HST order, and the dealer I'm working with has made a recommendation I was hoping to get some feedback on.

One of the secondary uses I'll have for the tractor is cutting in trails and driveways, as well as road maintnenance for a small development (roughly 1/2 mile of gravel road.)

I'm getting a tiller - haven't made a final decision yet, but am leaning towards the Land Pride RTR20 reverse cut. I'd planned on getting a box scraper, but the dealer is suggesting I get a landscape rake instead (LR1584 Land Pride 84" with dual guage rails.) According to him, it will do a much better job spreading gravel for the road maintenance, and if I cut in a driveway/trail with the tiller first, he said it would also work better for finishing that off.

He's only recommending the rake since I'm getting the tiller - said if I wasn't getting the tiller, he'd go with a 72" box scraper.

Any thoughts on this strategy?

Get all 3 implements, the box scraper shouldn't cost more than another $500 - $600.

If you are building any lengthy trails the tiller will take too long, and a half mile a driveway will take forever to till. The box scraper and the rake will do a nice job.
