As Galen mentioned, engine rail bolts are most likely loose. They are to be checked at regular intervals. If you have notched the fan that much, they are pretty loose and you might even have one busted or missing.

Hope you get to feeling better.

Thanks . A couple of the engine rail bolts were a little loose . I can't get to check the 3 bolts on the right rear because of the bracket and the pump is in the way to ge a wrench on them . The fan is touching or very close to the shroud on the bottom but I have about 3/4 of an inch on the top . Is there a way to adjust the shroud ? Could it be that the engine rail is or might be out of adjustment ?

seal oil. I've been doing some maintenance and decided to remove my shroud so I could thoroughly blow out the back of the radiator. If your shroud is like mine, the holes in it are slotted, not round. The slots enable you to align it so there is about a finger's thickness clearance between the top of the fan blade and the inner circumference of the shroud.

Get in there with a real strong light and see what you can see. I think the dealers on here are wrong about the cause being loose engine rail bolts.

My engine rail bolts were by no means falling out and probably were ok because I checked the bolts with the torque wrench 5 lbs or so lower than what was called for and it clicked . The couple that were loose just barley moved with the called for torque . The others clicked ok . The holes in the shroud do not look to be slotted . There are 3 bolts on each side of the shroud that I slackened up to see if the shroud would move but no such luck .

Okay then. It is obvious, even though our tractors are both Mistsubishi made; there are some big differences between the 15 and 16 series. My shroud has two bolts on each side.
