Hi--was splitting wood for a couple hours yesterday (using PB with hydraulic splitter), shutting tractor on and off frequently, last time it would not start. Got the flickering dash lights etc. After everything cycles thru, get an Err 57 on the dash. I'm thinking battery problem--won't hold a charge at all, and the clicking is louder/more pronounced when the charger is hooked up. Will be going to NAPA this morning for a load test and new battery (mine has a 3/06 date on it). Does anyone know where the X4 and X5 connectors are? The service manual says to check these and associated wires for the eHydro controller--but I have no idea where the actual connectors are located--I believe behind the removable cover below the steering wheel? I'm also hopeful that a new battery will remove the issue and that it may have had something to do with low voltage--the old battery has been disconnected since last night--maybe everything will work fine this morning with a new battery.
Thanks,
B8fish

Kenny--Yep, just the battery, replaced and all is well. Even the Err57 went away!

Yes it sure sounds like you had a battery problem there,...BUT, although this may not be connected to your situation, . . . I would remind operators to be careful in just how often you shut down and start up, time after time during certain jobs.

A battery can only handle so many starts,...if not allowed to run sufficiently to charge up again. If you crank it up and shut down soon after, many times in a row, it won't be long before the battery gives up on you.

However, in that case, try charging it prior to scrapping it for a new one. There may be nothing wrong with it.

CHEERS!

Thanks for posting this. I got the flashing dash lights and the clicking sounds the other day and would have never guessed that it was just the battery. The old battery was about 4 years old. I tried to charge it, but no luck. Bought a new one and it starts right up.
