While I was brush cutting back in the clear cut this weekend which is about 18 months of new growth of 6 to 12 feet high of poplar trees and like a very very green jungle and hard to see anything on the ground, I guess I did not have the bucket down far enough to catch this one and ended up on the top of it. It is a very gut sinking feeling at first when you are back in the woods a mile or so with no way to get a truck in where you are. With all wheels spinning and no traction I was unable to use the bucket to push myself backwards with the MX-5 on the back end and had to drop it and drag it away by hand with the help of two other strong young guys before attempting to push it backwards and free myself. nothing was hurt besides my pride, and was a great relief not to go ask the neighbor to come and help me with his tractor. I think I will now give up doing this myself without someone walking in front of me pointing out trouble before I run into it until spring when I can see better. lesson learned!
