Could someone tell me if I should be getting the rockshaft assist mounting brackets and hardware when ordering a 3320 with the 485 backhoe?
Thank you

Usually all part of the package--if you want to check on your dealers pricing, go to Deere's website and build your own--it will let you know for sure if there is an extra charge and what it is, also a good thing to have with you (at least in your head) if you are looking at a package deal (with implements) to know what kind of discount you are getting.

I ordered the tractor 3320 open station w/EHydro, 485 hoe,300cx loader and a 72" deck. I did not sign any contract, only a credit application. I got looking at the JD Website and saw that the hardware was taken off of the paper work that I have. It's a 327.00 option. I would like to know just what it does?Would it make it easier to put the hoe on and off?
Thanks for any input

You can't mount the hoe without the rockshaft assist mounting plates. The backhoe pins to the plates, and the plates bolt to the tractor. I purchased my 3320 used with the 447 backhoe installed, so I can't say if the hoe comes with the plates or not. I would imagine that each line of tractor has its own set of RSA plates, so I would think that it would be a separate line item even if there were no additional costs. Deere may sell the adapters separate for the user with multiple tractor models, so he could move the hoe from unit to unit if needed.

And you will also need the power beyond hydraulics installed too. Your dealer will know all of these details.

I have the power beyond kit on the order but for some reason he deleted the hardware kit. It says $-327.00 ? I will have to go see him tomorrow. Maby he just made a mistake.
Thanks for the help

Maybe he just took out the cost, and still ordered the kit?? Or had the plates in inventory already--as Cocre mentioned above?

That must be what it is. I think it must come with a subframe and it would have to have the hardware. This is my first backhoe and I don't know much about them. I know Deere
makes nice equipment and I am pretty excited about being able to get such a nice setup.
Thank you for your help

If you do a "build your own" from the Deere website and add the hoe, the RSA plates are shown to be "in base price". So they must be included at no additional cost.

I have the 485 for my 3320. You absolutely need the mounting plates for the backhoe. It is a separate item from the backhoe and does not come as part of the backhoe because the backhoe will fit on the 4000 series as well - which takes completely different mounting plates.

The mounting plates should come as a kit that includes new bolts, and two spacers. As previously stated - I would also guess that he has the kit in stock. Wouldn't hurt to double check with the dealer just to make sure.

Why not ask the dealer instead of us?
