Good evening
Loader started dropping the bucket today. Bucket will just start dropping and very quickly. Looking for some where to start looking for the problem. Have a joy stick control. Was wondering if it could be the quick disconnet leaking by, I had an o-ring come out of the ball on one when I first bought it.

If it's just the loader & not the 3 pt. Look for loader valve bypassing . Disconnect the qc in question with loader raised & see if hyd fluid leaks out. My guess is loader valve seals or trash in the valve

Here is a theory. raise the bucket all the way. Kill the tractor. If the bucket falls part of the way to the ground and stops you have a bad lift cylinder. If it falls all the way to the ground you have a bad control valve. May be a stupid theory but free to try. :thumbsup:

Killed the tractor and the bucket dropped all the way, took off the discconet and no oil leaking. Guess I will take the control valve in for rebuild.

Its been awhile Vern but I am 99% sure all there is inside one is o-rings and springs and they will be plain old o-rings. A careful tear down real careful attention to detail and be real clean about it and do one valve at a time.

I bet you can do it yourself I know I would try that first before trusting anyone else plus I am a cheapskate diy type. Even if you tore into it and found it had lip seals I bet a kit could be bought if the numbers are still on it. my .002
