MAHINDRA 3510 w/ ML112 FEL
After buying my 3510, and using the FEL for a while, it feels as if the lift capacity is not up to par. The service manual shows the relief pressure should be 160 kilograms per square centimeter which equates to 2275 psi. I tested the hydraulic pressure at the rear remotes with the engine RPM set to 2600 as per the service manual and the pressure is 1800 psi (475 psi lower than what it should be).

How much difference in lift capacity would 475 psi make?

Thanks,
Joe

Joe,
475 PSI would make a very noticable dedrease in lift capacity.
Check the relief valve on the loader valve first as it is easily accessable and maybe you can hear it if that is where the problem is. If that isn't causing the problem you may want to call your dealer as the diagnosis and repair would get much more complicated and probably under warranty. Let us know what transpires and good luck with it.

Galen,

Thanks for the reply. My loader has the Prince loader control valve. The info I found on the Prince web site shows my control valve to be the LVT. It has a relief cartridge plug screwed into the bottom next to the two spool control assemblies. Unless I'm missing something, I don't think it's adjustable. If I am wrong, please let me know.

Thanks,
Joe

Joe,
I believe you are correct about that, but listen and see if that is where it is bypassing, and if it is call your dealer and he will probably change the whole valve assy. Good luck & let us know.

The Prince valve does NOT have a relief in it. The loader is operated off of the tractor relief only.

Is the tractor relief valve adjustable by me, or is it internal? If I can adjust it, where is it located?

The tractor relief is located in the transmission housing on the back side of the PTO solonoid. Adjusting the the valve is a bit tricky and I wouldn't suggest it especially if the tractor is under warranty. I would let the dealer check it out as the problem may not even be the relief valve. Keep us informed.

Galen,
Thank you for the info... I'm going to try to bring my tractor to the dealer this weekend. Yes, the machine is under warranty, but the deciding factor was the valve being internal.

Thank you all for the help,
Joe

rback33, didn't a few of the tractors with the Prince valve have the relief in the valve? I know the Mitsu based models do not, but this is on a 10 series. Not sure if it is a gear or hydro.

My 3510 is a shuttle shift.
