Branson's Tier IV engines use a low temp continual regen scheme. There's no discrete regen cycle like on other DPF equipped tractors.

Possibly one could determine that the runaway was caused by crankcase oil fumes by looking in the intake tract after the crank breather to see if there's oil from the breather in there.

There's a lever on the fuel injection pump that I am pretty sure is a mechanical shutoff. It's the one that's not connected to anything. Ours primarily uses an electric shutoff solenoid which gets energized for some seconds when you turn the ignition off.

Some of you said it was hard to find info on the 10 series and I agree. I wound up finding an owners manual. Here is the info on oil from that.

So that's about 5.3L, give or take, quite a bit to 6.1L. It could or could not been the cause of the runaway.

I'm a bit reserved on why your engine ran away. I would think it would have to be way way overfull in order for it to run away. Doesn't match up in my mind. But who knows. I've heard of vapors from an unknown leak of LPgas or natural gas causing this and have heard if this causing major issues.

Yes, I saw that also. However it says the same for the 2810 with an even smaller engine. 10 series info is really hard to find.

Branson Bob, how much oil do you use on your 3520?

I use 5.3 quarts as per the manual however the dipstick is impossible to read because it doesn't resemble in the least, the dipstick shown in the manual which simply has a notch for high level and a notch for low level.

The dipstick I have has numerous level lines on it... none of which are identified.

I sometimes wonder if I should be putting more oil in and will call the dealership tomorrow to get their opinion.
