Hi Folks,

I just bought a 3520 w/ about 600 hrs on it. While I was doing some maintenance on my new toy, I noticed there was only the large air filter in the air filter housing. The tech manual states that there is a dual element, one inside the other. I verified this with a local 3120 owner. I contacted the hobby dealer that I purchased it from and he said that it was an option and that some JD tractors of that series did not have them. I find this pretty hard to believe. Can anyone help with some solid info on this statement? The intake port looked ok, but I'd like to know if this is something I should be concerned about. Not exactly off to a good start with a this large investment. Thanks a lot for the help.

Jake

There are two, a primary (RE68048) and a secondary (RE68049). Buy the missing one (or both and start with a known air filter system in place).
About $35 for the primary and $25 for the secondary.

You can verify by going to jdparts.com and putting your model JD in, then look on the alphabetical listing under "Air"

You need a new dealer and an inner filter ASAP.
