3720 Cab: Loader popped, Broken Window Panel

/ 3720 Cab: Loader popped, Broken Window Panel #12
I have had this problem since I bought the tractor a year ago. When I bought it I had to add the loader so the dealer installed it. Several times doing different things, either one or both masts would pop up about an inch. What a pain to get them back down right. So after reading this post I got to thinking, could mine be on wrong. So today I removed the loader for the first time, and sure as I am typing here, they are on the wrong sides. So to recap, the dealer failed to install the masts correctly, didn't top off the hydraulic fluid after the load install and the quick release knobs were so loose the loader rattled around.....sheesh. So down to the shop now and switch the masts around.

Sure enuff the mounts are on backwards:mad::mad: I tried to remove loader yesterday and can't even get it off the tractor!! Raise the front, release locks, move loader forward, etc.. etc... only problem is... is when the loader is at full "stretched out" position it just raises the loader striat up and not allow the masts to disconect from the mounts:confused:
I stuck a screwdriver under the masts to feel where the locator rods are and yep they are on wrong. Gonna call dealer first thing in the morning to get them up here to fix yet another screw up on their part:(

WOW, this rears it ugly head yet once again. This was a hot topic a few years ago, but I thought they (JD) where clearly marking the parts now to keep it from happening anymore.

I looked at the masts when I had them off, there are not markings on them. One would think that JD would mark them Left and Right, or at least put an arrow on the end indicating FRONT of tractor. I will say, the loader has much less slack in the masts now and I tried to get the masts to pop up and was unable.

I think I may have the same problem, I will be taking the loader off for the first time today to find out for sure. The first time I was using it to move dirt the loader was coming a couple inches off of the masts and it scared the crap out of me when I saw it. Dealer told me to adjust the cap screws back against the mast pad finger tight and then snug them back with a wrench. That worked but it still seemed like a slight gap would open with a load on. I'm really anxious to see if the masts are installed correctly.

Guess what, backwards. I think I may have made a purchase from the wrong dealer. This is about number 4 or 5 things I have found incorrect. Without this website I never would have known to check. Though I would have found it when I tried to remove the FEL because it doesn't want to come off with them on backwards. I would not have know why just that it wouldn't come off. Time for a long discussion with the dealer. Probably get me no where I just hope that they didn't miss something major that I haven't found yet. Now I know why I am haveing trouble removing my 72d mmm.

Geez, that's too bad. Not much good comes from not trusting the dealer.

Hope you get things worked out.

I am amazed that several operators appear to have the same problem.

Deere came up today and with the help of couple prybars and and a highlift jack we got the loader off the mounts, reversed the mounts and reinstalled. Loader moves on and off without issue now. Even the tech said it would be helpful if Deere would mark the mounts R or L as they do that on a lot of other side specific parts for other tractors and equipment.

Thanks to this thread I have avoided potential damage and/or injury.

Thanks guys!!!:drink:

There have been some references to the "masts" being on wrong, but I assume they really mean the mounts. Those are the stubs that the loader attaches to on each side.

I think of the mast as being the part of the FEL that attaches to the mount.
