A quick word on fuel consumption by my new 3720. I now have had the opportunity to fill my tank twice (neither time was it empty, though). Keeping careful records, I have seen consistent fuel consumption on both fill ups. Last time I consumed 8.7 gallons for 13.2 hours work for an average of 0.67 gallons per hour. This was mostly mowing and I kept the RPM's at 2000-2550 most of the time for PTO work. My other hourly average was 0.72 gallons per hour. By contrast my previous 4310, on its last tank before trading, with 46 hours on it, did 10.2 hours work on exactly 7.0 gallons fuel, for an average of 0.69 gallons per hour. So far, the difference has been negligible in fuel consumption, but I never did PTO work with my 4310 before trading it, thusly I did not rev it the same. My opinion is that the 3720, after broken in better, will use a small amount less fuel than the 4310 did. By contrast, my father's 335-- 20 hp-- JD garden tractor used 3.8 gallons of fuel in 1.6 hours of mowing use last time, for an average of 2.38 gallons per hour. It weighes only slightly more than one of my loaded rear tires!!! Just shows how fuel efficient these machines can be.
