JD,
I realize you were replying to Kennedy Diesel's response, and he will offer a good opinion to you. For my part, the comparison you cite is interesting. I have a 3720 and have loved it so far. It is very strong and would perform all the tasks you mention with relative ease. The 4610 will mow well and in most cases will not compress the ground, provided it is not too soft. Our local hospital uses one to pull a 6' RFM on a relatively-delicate front lawn, and it does fine. The tire tracks are hardly noticable. That said, they do not even think of mowing with it when a rain has occurred even two days prior. They also have a 4410 for ground maintenence. The crew does not like this machine as well as the 4610. They say it is not as comfortable or powerful. Having used a 4610 myself in the past, the 3720 I currently have will blow it away with regard to power and engine peformance. There is no comparison between the two in that regard. With regard to durability, I do not see a huge difference between the two. As noted, the mid frame 4010's had some initial "bugs" that needed resolving, but they and the new 3000 series are fine with regard to durability. This may also be a function of the number of them there are, relative to the large frame machines. For me, I would go with the 3720. I also would consider getting the larger R4 tires, as both Kennedy Diesel and myself did. This makes the tractor approach the sizing of the large frames but while maintaining a reasonable lateral dimension for greater manuverability. Incidentally, our head groundskeeper at the hospital liked my 3720 so much when he saw it, he has pre-ordered two to replace the tractors mentioned when his lease expires. Also, the dealer may be steering you (in part) to the machine he has because the 3720's have been somewhat tough to get by the dealers recently. Apparently, JD is somewhat behind on production of them, and they currently are being produced in increments.
