Riiiiight, see we only put that seal there to look good .

I hear what you are saying now...... Pulled the cab top off tonite to start the radio install and guess what..... That seal is more than "cosmetic"!!!! Sucker is shredded in 2 spots... right above the rear signal lights. Sent e-mail to dealer tonite and will make a call in the morning to them.

Why is Deere having such an issue with these seals for so long???

One would think Deere would have the seals sorted out by now, Maybe they need a Toyota style recall to motivate them to fix the design.

As for the salesman/dealer ordering the wrong loader mounts and telling you the seal is cosmetic...the salesman/dealer is a frakking idiot!

Nice machine! :D I'm more than a little green... I can feel the cab heater clear up here!!

It's too bad that you're startin' out on the wrong side of things with your dealer and the salesman!!

If I were in your shoes... the dealership rollback truck would be at my place -- pronto!!!

They'd be working on installing the radio AND fixing the roof seals.

Hope you're not on the hook to install the electric diverter.

Based on my experience with the electric diverter on my JD 110 - I know straight-up - it wouldn't be my responsibility to do a cab install on MY new tractor!!! ;)

Best of luck with your new, warm CAB tractor!

Talked with the dealer and shop foreman yesterday about the seals. They told me go ahead with the radio install and if other seals are bad then they would take care of it under warranty. That outer seal is only cosmetic he told me, no water can get in there but some dust could, so try to restick it in place and we will go from there.

Hopefully the loader shows up tomorrow, dealer ordered loader mounts for open station instead of cab tractor:confused: 1 other moronic move by him.

Nuru.... the blower lists for $5800, I got this one for $5000 because it was used, (like maybe twice). Pricey bugger, but man does it work slick!!!!

jjmarotz; thanks for the price info. I am considering a 64" 3PT Frontier, as I can turn enough in my seat to go a long way in reverse without hurtin' my neck:confused2:, but if I saw a good price on a front unit, I might get it.

Oh yeah, I freak my neighbors out by snow plowing in a t-shirt (yes the coat is nearby, so when I get out I can remain warm and healthy:))

Can't answer the "why", but if me, I'd be careful what battles I decided to fight or get involved in. Might be something in the future that I'd want my dealer on my side that is much more important that some seals. Likely not the dealers fault that it happened by a disgruntled employee on the assembly line, but could be any number of inspectors including the set-up person at the dealer. Too bad that it happened, but not a biggy either (maybe that is what everyone involved thought about it too, so it didn't get fixed). Can hope that it is easy to fix and the only thing out of whack.

Enjoy your ride and hope you get some more snow for that nice blower and a radio going for in the cab. You will prolly blow out the entire county then. :D

Only problem tho is the seals are what make the heat and ac work properly. Now that I have researched here on TBN do I know how important they actually are. Got an e-mail this mornin that new seals are on order and will be replaced next week. Hopefully here in my shop instead of waiting a few days and wasted transport time;) but we will see. Either way they are making good on things!!

1 more ?.... does the radio bezel HAVE to be used for the radio install, or can a person go without it? I ordered one today, (only $7 bucks), but it won't be in till tuesday. Just wondering if I can wrap up the radio install without it.

Thanks for the comments fellas!!!!:drink:

The Bezel is not required, the radio is hard mounted to a place in the top/ceiling beneath the removable top.

Yep those seals are required. Mine was missing the inside seal too.

Finally got the radio install all wrapped up and done last nite. Along with new cab seal. I had the wife help me drop the top back on, that sucker is awkward to handle alone. I even had an extra XM radio kit so I installed that too while I had things apart. Gonna be nice to have tunes. Also installed my spray rig control box, just need to route the wires and pressure tube, but ran out of time. That can wait since we still have 2' of snow in the pastures.

Put the brush guard on too, before install I added a pc of expanded metal to the stock guard, and repainted, (was WAY cheaper than buying the deluxe Deere guard);) I cut a notch in the lower cross bar to allow the upper link to travel a couple inches further. Still don't have full "up" travel of the blower but it helped. I glued a pc of 5/16" fuel line onto the notch to act as a bumper of sorts with the link. See how long that lasts;) May just remove the guard for winter months.
