You guys with your 3720's (or those getting one) make me sick. Maybe if I hit the Lotto /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I could get one???

I wish I knew back then what I know now. Mike you should be charging for all this info. I thought at the time I bought my 4310 that it had the same size engine as the 4410. Same typo as Mike mentioned previously.

Personally, I'd suggest the smaller frame tractors over the 4000-20's. No offense to the large 20 owners, but I am just not comfortable with a Stanadyne fuel system.

Yanmar is a proven engine, and while it's true that we are indirectly supporting a foreign (Japanese) company, at least we are not supporting the Chinsese. The Mexican built Powertech is a big ????

If you look around you'll see a few issues with smoking and it is typicaly 4000-20's...

Kennedy, you are saying a lot of good points that kept you from buying that setup. Don't forget there are lots of very satisfied owners of those machines. Both need to be considered by anyone making a buying choice.

Well If I were to do it over again, I would lean more to the 3720 for sure. They are quieter and I have yet to hear any complaints with the yanmar engines with them in this area. My 4320 has been in the shop more that I have had the pleasure of owning it. I'm sure I'm an exception to the rule but John Deere seems to be in no hurry to fix my 4320. Its been there since 7/12/05 I took delivery on 7/8/05 I picked it up for 1 weekend for some hoe work and the hoe broke 15 minutes into using it and I was done for the weekend. There now saying they will need it another 2 weeks maybe more and I'm to the point of giving up on green and going orange. I have owned 2 other John Deere's with Yanmars 1 for over 25 years and never had any real problems with them at all. But with the 4320 of mine there is something wrong every time I talk to them.( The Dealer) /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif The biggest reason I went for the 4X20 series is the loader lift capacity other wise I would have bought the 3720. I test drove 1 several time before making my mind up.

The 3720 is a monster of a machine. I certainly know the a mid frame is not a large frame, but if one ballasts the machine enough, I bet it would do 99% of what a large frame would. The remainder of the time, you would have added manuverability, etc. that makes the mid frame machines so appealing. I never try to dissuade one from getting a larger machine, as my 3720 is clearly more than I need, but part of tractoring is having something that will do what you need easily and is fun to operate and will give good and reliable service. While the PowerTech engines have been around a while in other applications, I would be hard pressed to stack them up against the Yanmar diesel. They just don't give trouble and last forever. My vote for our man Dave would be the 3720 for that very reason. Interestingly, I had my 3720 at the dealer yesterday to have the cruise control upgrade installed, and three people asked about it and one wanted to buy it!!! They clearly are gaining a following.
