3720 owners second scv not always working

ok talked to the dealer there was a bad batch of solenoids that would stick. I just got in from another small snow storm and my helper was running the tractor and after an hour of use it stopped working again and we could not get the blade to angle for the rest of the storm. (it was stuck)
I will call the dealer in the morning and request a new part can't have that happening all the time.

I think that plug is for the optional backup alarm. You have to move the joystick around a little while pushing in on the lock. Locks real easy when my knee rubs against it usually when I don't want it locked! There is three positions to the lock. I will stick with the good old mechanical third SCV because it works and it DOES have float! The joystick mounted electric control would be handy but it has to be a quality/dependable setup for sure!

your scv lock lever has nothing to do with the rear scv just so you know. It can lock the joystick in neutral, or engage and disengage the Regen feature for bucket dumping. that is another story for another day.

I just got my 2012 3720 cab and i also hate the rear scv. the buttons on the joystick seem to stick.

I wired in a toggle switch to control the 3rd rear scv also. It is a switch from a 4720 cab that would control the 4th or 5th rear scv. I just tied it into the joystick switch so i can use either one. So far i like the toggle way better.

I also made a 4th scv for the rear by adding an open center valve. i'll get pics of that up soon. I am controlling it with the scv lever and cable from an early model 3x20 cab. The lever goes in the slot to the left of the 3pt lever. It looks 100% factory and so far works great. best part about a manual scv is a got the float function again.

Did you ever post pics/details of the 4th scv? Maybe I just missing them, but have been interested since you posted that it's possible.

Just an update before this winter had my local JD dealer take the machine and trouble shoot they found a bad ground on the wiring harness hidden under all the side paneling I would never have found it. This fixed the problem finally and the SCV worked perfect all winter long
