Good info above and one thing I'd like to mention on these "A Series" cummins engines is that the A2000 and A2300 (2.0 and 2.3L 4 cyl) have a Bosch VE rotory style injection pump. These pumps by design are fuel lubricated. It is very important to have a lubricity additive for the dry low sulfur fuel. I use Stanadyne Lubricity formula, but anything is better than nothing.
I haven't checked the PS products for lubricity. The Sea Foam mineral oil is enough to be recommended over regular starting fluid for naturally aspired, carbureted, 2 stroke outboards engine starting either while troubleshooting, or hard to start situations.
