Don't be afraid of going outside the state, I purchased a Kubota L48 from Carvers, a company about 3000 miles away. Realize you will probably pay tax on it payable to the franchise tax board. Tax is about 7.25% unless you can prove ag use, then there is no tax. I got a tractor that I could do most any maintainence on and never needed much dealer assitance. If it comes down to a warranty issue, you can bring your tractor to a local dealer whether its comfortable for you to do so or not. The prices you quoted were a little high, but remember, were dealing with a population in California of 35 million people, many in what can be considered some of the best farm land in the world. Supply and demand will indeed play a part. The supply is short and the demand is high on Kubotas L30 tractors. You can only guess why that is. Rat...
