Tap into the FEL power beyond. Connect FEL PB to new valve's inlet. Connect new valve's PB to block where FEL PB was connected. Tee new valve's return line into any return line that goes back to tank (like the FEL return to tank line).

That still doesn't resolve the issue of whatever is connected to that plate not having power beyond. You should really look into correcting that.

The really odd part is that, if I am reading it right.. neither of his spools PB ports are being used...

Based on his line drawing, you are right. He should be connected like the manual page illustration.

OK, so now you see that the PB ports are plugged. Doesn't that create a closed circuit. I thought that the PB should have been routed to the second valve, then to the return at the tap-off plate. I thought all exhausted fluid from the spool valve returns were supposed to go to the sump.

An open center valve with the PB port plugged, still routes fluid straight thru to the remaining outlet but it also routes neutral pressure cylinder exhaust fluid to the same outlet. Adding a PB sleeve to the valve isolates the exhaust fluid (from the cylinder) and the main flow. Hence the term power beyond.

If you had a closed center valve your pump would quickly destroy itself because the fluid would have no way to get back to the tank.
