3D printed brake disc???

Has anyone tried carbon fiber for wet brake disc printed of a 3D printer? I cannot get brake disc for my Mitsubishi MT14 compact tractor so I am going to try this.

i would use a nylon 12 or PPA-CF (if you have a printer capable of it) for this. I still think your going to break it, can't you get one made on a lathe?

I would not expect a 3d printed disc to have the shear strength to work as a brake. The printed fibers are so short they don't grip the same as long fiber laid articles.

A search for custom clutch reliners will get you many places capable of relining your existing brake disc.

3d printers melt plastic. Generally 150-300c. So under 575f &most plastic used is a liquid way under that. Doesn't matter what fillers (carbon fiber) are in there, it's still plastic. Even oil cooled brakes are going to melt in minutes if not seconds as brakes or clutches. Not even counting on how strong the material is.

Do you have any Mitsubishi or general Forklift repair shops in your area? If so, take the wet disk brake in and match it up.
