I have had the thought that PT should make the bottom of the tub with a solid plate that has an oil drain plug.........

Oil sight gauge on the side or maybe just listen by ear for oil sloshing.

The first time I saw anything about 3D printing was quite a while ago. Jay Leno did a segment with a guy about recreating missing/broken car marker lights and turn signal lights. They had some old car that was missing, say, the left rear turn signal lens. They removed the right turn signal lens, and put a 3D scanner on it. Once they got it scanned, they just mirrored the scan and produced a left turn signal. They then cast the 3D printed left signal in something to get a negative mold of it, then poured the amber resin in the mold. Ta da! New turn signal lens.

Pretty neat!
Today, you can print in flexibly clear translucent material and make the lens directly, and in any color.

flexible TPU 95A, also offer better impact ability.

“Today, you can print in flexibly clear translucent material and make the lens directly, and in any color”

Maybe, You, can?
I know, I’m just a mere mortal with my 3d printer. No way, no how, could I print that complex curve, clear, smooth , headlight lens, that’s in those photos. I seriously doubt anyone else here could either.
Isn’t it mostly experimental at this point?

From that article....

"According to the report, the research showed that 3D printing was suitable for making prototypes, improving operational efficiency and shortening production times"

I don't think "we" are there yet. ;)
