3PH jerkiness and HST

Am in the process of buying an L2800HST this week. After reading all of the concerns about the jerkiness of the three point in July discussion and the concern that it might have something to do with the HST transmission I'm a little worried about my decision. Has Kubota started replacing the valve routinely on tractors or is this something I should discuss with the dealer and show him the info from TBN site? Has anyone figured out if the HST is a partial culprit and if so should I abandon my choice and go basic gear shift. This is a first tractor and I hope it will outlive me.

If you like the HST go ahead and get it. I really don't think that it had anything to do with the jerkiness of the three point.

I do not know if they are replacing the valve as they should, but if you request it they will. I hated my new L3400HST when I first got it but after the valve replacement it is like the tractor it should be. The HST works the same as before only the 3pt. works properly now. When I filled out my new owner customer survey I hammered them on the fact that they even shipped these tractors with what I considered and unusable 3pt. For the money it is alot of tractor and I think you would be quite happy. Good luck. Brian

I agree with Goog.

There was one person that had an HST issue after changing the valve. He thinks the HST does not perform as well as before changing the valve. He suspects the dealer did something to it but he is using the tractor.

I had the valve changed on my L3400 (big sister of L2800) and the tractor is perfect. The HST is fine.

My dealer found the fix on Kubota's web site and ordered the part. It took 3 days. No charge for the fix.

The valve was changed on my L2800 and the HST is just like it was before the valve change.
Your dealer might charge you for the valve replacement calling it an opitonal upgrade since they (dealers)know about it now, I think it's HS and they should put the new valve on every unit that shows up on the lot and charge Kubota.

Just what valve is this by name and where is it located. I have been receiving sudden surges on my B7510 as I attempt to move forward or reverse from a stop.

A big thanks to all you guys. I am feeling better about the whole thing. I'll just make sure the salesperson and the shop are aware that it should be changed before they deliver it to me. I'm still convinced this rig is the best I can do for the money available and still have the HST.

If they try to charge you for the valve give them links to some of these web pages. There is plenty of info here to set a precedent for a free fix. Get them to commit to doing it free before signing. I think you'll love the tractor.

The valve in question here is the 3pt position control valve that sits directly below the seat and shouldn't have anything to do with your sudden surges on your B7510.
There was one gentelman that had HST problems after his 3pt valve was changed, it would appear as a coincidence due to the many other valves that have been changed with no malfunctions in the their HST.

I have the L3430 hst with only about 140 hours on it. Recently the control to raise and lower the 3 pt hitch has become very stiff. It had been smooth and easy. Do you think this could be related to this same valve issue that is causing jerkiness for others? Any thoughts would be appreciated........
