Youare, my Iseki has a fine-mesh screen for the trans/hydraulic fluid and because of water I've had the fluid changed since then. There was some debri caught by this including metal from clashing gears. My other tractor is a FORD 1910 and it has a $27 paper like filter that probably catches finer debri-- once it gets to it. I bet tho it's the "macro" debri that can hang up a SVC valve. On the Ford I had to open up the differential from the top to free-up a dfferential lock and there was alot metal debri in the bottom of the case (gear tractor) which communicates with the transmissions. Its easy to imagine a shard of metal getting mobilized before a filter stops it.
