Be careful with moving the hole in the clevis too far up the side. The reason for the gap between the top of the clevis and the hole is to allow the lift arm clearance for moving up and down. If the hole is too high in the clevis, the clevis will bottom out on the lift arm as the angle changes.

Take your three point through a full up and down cycle and see how much clearance you need before re-drilling the holes.

Exactly! The attached photo is what happens when the clevis bottoms out.:eek:

Jinman and MichiganIron: I had the same concern as I looked at the hitch more closely this weekend. I think the upper clevis has an easy 1" gain to be had, so I'm going to try and get the dealer to do that mod. I need to get filters and oil for my 50 hour self-service, so I'll just take the links off the tractor and take them in with me this week.
