I havn't actually done plummed it, though a while back had looked into putting a later hundred series pump on my NAA in order to run a set of rear remotes. that's when i found out about the issue. The shop manual makes a brief reference to it as well... The 'fix' is to not use draft control.. in other words.. if you are just using position control it's no big deal. I imagine the same thing could happen on a ford N using an aftermarket live hyds setup that is plumbed in parallel with the ford pump, pretty much doubling it's capacity...
I abandoned the idea of putting a remote on the NAA.. it's hyd top cover was a step inthe right direction ( from the 8n ) but ford finally got it right in 55 with the hundred (and thousand series top covers) with a standardized mating flange making it easy to add remote hyds.. etc. I believe the valve for the NAA is still available.. though it is quite spendy.. and I've only seen a Single spool.. not a double.. etc..
Since then i now have 2 hundred series and a thousand series with either loader hyds or remotes plumbed off of those valves..e tc.
