3pt arms - won't go up

My L4200's 3pt hitch arms were stuck in the up position for a year. I finally was able to get them to go down (I think I had the valve under the seat closed before). Now, however, they won't go back up. I have a single control lever on the right of the seat.

Someone suggested that there was a linkage adjustment that might be incorrect, looking for more specifics on that.

Also, could there be any other settings that I might be missing? I thought that the 3pt hitch was always enabled. I am running a backhoe on the single rear remote, and have a loader.

Did you connect the hydraulic hoses on the tractor together when you took the backhoe off?

Greetings,
Not familiar with your particular tractor, but on my L35, there is a small handle behind the back of the seat.
You have to pull it out or back when using the hoe, then push it forward when the hoe is removed to send fluid to the 3 point hitch.
This is in addition to what was said above and the valve under the front of the seat.

The backhoe is still installed. My 3pt arms are flopped down and resting on the remote hoses - just trying to left them back up and out of the way. I don't know that the remotes are supposed to be connected to anything when the backhoe is removed, are they? I've never removed the backhoe, so I don't know.

Hmmm....I don't know of a behind the seat lever, however, there might be something there. I'll have to look.

When I take the BH off mine, I connect the male/female remote quick connects to each other to complete the hydraulic circuit...similar to the FEL. Is there a chance the circuit controling the 3PH arms is broken/disconnected/clogged somehow? Are there any other hydraulic ailments that would be evidence of a clog or something? FEL and BH work fine? Any belly links? They are tied to the same circuit as the 3PH links on my machine...if you have them, do they go up?

Just a few ideas to check.

The ones that I have worked on, had to have the Power beyond hoses connected to raise the three point hitch. I am sure that your will be the same. It that isn't right for your Kubota, I am sure someone will let us know.

Everything on the machine works perfectly, other than the 3pt, but I'm 99% sure that is cockpit error - there is no reason to think it is defective). I was unaware of the remote connection requirement. My remote couplers are mounted in a bracket that holds them in position and prevents accidental disconnection. I have to unbolt the bracket to disconnect the hoses - do you have such a bracket? I seem to remember my remote couplers both being female through - would I need to attach a coupling hose. Again, I've never disconnected them, so I'm guessing at this point.

Jay,
I think you are using your rear remote to power the BH. The control lever for that remote has to be in the forward or rear position to supply hydraulic fluid to your BH. To get fluid to the 3pt. you need that control lever in the neutral, center, position. KennyV.

Mine are a little different. I do have a 'bracket', but it simply the transition between the "frame hose" and the flexible "connection hose" for my BH. If you have two ends to true rear remote, I guess you'd have another valve in there somewhere. Mine are connected directly to the pump and as such, must always be cross connected and the circuit completed...either through the hoses or through the BH spoolers. As I said, mine are male-female and very logical.

With two females, how would you know which side of the pump is which? Seems when you hook something up, you have a 50/50 shot at having the thing go the right way. That makes me think you have an upstream spooler on the remote that may be in the way and affecting your 3PH operation.

I don't have much 'tractor' experience (made the jump from Craftsman to BX and had never been on a 'tractor' previously), but Mr. Kenny V seems to be onto something. Seems like there is a hydraulic widget somewhere in there that is messing up your mojo.

Hope you get it figured out. Always frustrating.
