I think you had better just plan on replacing it if it is bent at all where the one part fits inside the other. They are difficult enought to move without being bent and any additional friction from not being nice and straight and flat will make it much worse.

SoundGuy let's just say I like the simple things in life.

Absolutely nothing in the world wrong with reaching for a wrench every-time you need to snug up the sways but I've had it both ways and the Boomer now has me spoiled rotten I reckon.

How often do you have to snug up the sways? Mine never come loose by themselves. So far.. all my cat 2 equipment has the same measurements.. thus no sway changing. Only time I have to adjust the sway is when jumping between cat1 and cat 2 equipment.... Course.. that is easilly solved by just having a second tractor or two laying around.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

SoundGuy since I don't use Pat's system it's more important to pull both sway pins to remove an implement making the lower lift arms easier to move from side to side and away from the captive pins on each implement. Are you able to remove an implement if the turnbuckles are snug on your rig?

I have inside sway bars on my old 960 Ford 3pt. Wonderful things! It came with chains, aweful things... My little 1720 has turnbuckles, they are ok.

But I'm with you, the steel bars are far simpler & easier to use, and give much better positive position.

Not to argue with anyone else. To each their own. Just how it works for me.

Mike, here's a picture of our stabilizer system. I've never seen anything simpler and it's one of those features I love on our tractors.

BTW: I was fitting up the sidelink cylinder when I took this picture. That long bolt was replaced with the proper one. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Good picture Jim! Where's your PTO stub cover though?

The PYO cover cops are gonna get ya! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif It's interesting....When I first got my tractor, the PTO cap wasn't there. So, the dealer gave me one. As it turned out, the original cap was in the tool box, so I ended up with two. Now I can't find either of them! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Since Pat's System was mentioned earlier in this thread, I will give them an attaboy. I bought the Easy Change system last fall and didn't have a chance to use it until this past weekend when I cut our pasture with the brush hog. Wow, what a difference in hooking up. Set the arms to the correct width, drop in the pins and back up to lock the lower arms in. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's in my toolbox...somewhere. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Actually, the darn thing being plastic, it's threads are really easy to cross-thread if I am not super careful. I have been meaning to check the one off my old Jubilee to see if it will fit since it is steel. The Jubilee has an overunning clutch on it and the cover won't fit. I think New Holland is one of the few tractors that has a PTO cover. I don't think Deeres do for sure.

Mike the very same thing happened to me except I know where both of mine are. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
