Did you finish? I never have trouble on stuff that light using 3x3 x 1/2" tabs for the lower links. For things over a ton I usually use double pads with a captive cross pin and some gussets.
This probably weighs close to what yours does and I don't have any problems at all. It is 14' wide.
Shear load is no problem 36,000 psi x 1" x 2 x 0.5" = 36,000 lbs shear load with no safety factor for 1" offset to the pin hole. The problem is moment or bending and that is where the gussets come in. Lateral bending is the problem not so much up and down since the lower links are in compression and the upper link is in tension. The bending is in the turns.
