3-Point Hitch 3pt Hitch Side to Side Sway Tolerance?

Look at your pictures in the first post and compare the turnbuckle bolt lengths. It appears that you should have one short and one long bolt on each side. By you having two long bolts on each side you can't tighten them enough.

Edit: Davkir already pointed this out. Oops.

On the way to pick up my wife & kids, I went to another dealer and their tractors have the same turnbuckles as mine. I have no idea why some have the short, long combo...and the newer ones have two long bolts on each side.

Anyway, I ordered the 4' CAT1 BB from King Kutter. It should be in about 2-3 weeks. Now the waiting:(

That's it, pulling is what you need to worry about, not lifting. Cutting 5' of ground a few inches deep might be a struggle, especially with turf tires. Then again, ask TSC if you can bring back the 5' BB if you can't pull it. A free trial!

Its interesting that all of the tractors and pics you looked at have the collars opposite of how mine is setup. Yet, I can tighten up implements and you cannot! What does it all mean??? :)

Yours are on backwards, but it is working for you so enjoy.

My Box Blade came in! I hooked it up and was able to tighten down the turnbuckles with no sway on the implement. I have learned that I have to use true Cat 1 equipment with my 2305. I am sure the Cat 0 would have worked, but I was not comfortable with all that movement and swinging on the rear end.

BRENTP please take the time to take a close look at DAVKIR's pictures on the first page of this discussion. You can see that the threads on DAVKIR's pictures go all the way down to the base and the rod is overall shorter on one end of each side on his couplers where yours and mine are both longer. I would think we both will need to go to John Deere dealer and purchase a pair of the shorter threaded rod ends and change them on our tractors. It looks like we would also get the piece that goes through the arm with maybe a new nut.

Yes, I already went through this exercise at the dealer. He looked it up on the computer and he said for the short ones it would cost $70 a piece:eek:

We looked at the other 2305's (two of them) and one 2320 and they both come with the longer threads like mine. The 2520 had the shorter one's. The dealer said they come in from JD already installed so it is not their installation issue.

The longer threads will work fine with CAT 1 pin spacing. If you want to use the CAT 0 attachments, then you would need to change out to the shorter thread ends.

In a 'it's not my flipping problem' attitude ?

You shouldn't need the shorter lengths, the 2305 3pth is a cat 1. The only difference that 'limited' means is that it can't lift as high (few inches shorter) than machines with more ground clearance. The pin spacing and PTO performance are otherwise cat 1.

Brent, enjoy the box blade!

Bret
2 things I noticed

If you swapped check chains and lift point you would, get more height for equioment, and chain would be further back and be tighter.

If that dosent work I'v seen some tractors with crossed check chains.
rotate the brackets and chains will cross neding to be a little longer.
