Is there any company of Compact tractor that makes a 3pt hitch with down pressure?? maybe this seems like a dumb question, but using a post hole digger in some soils, this would help alot. It would also help with a rear blade in some circumstances.
thanks

Not to my knowledge.
Think about why would you. The auger is the only attachment that would use it.

You can:
A) Get augers that have down pressure kits.
or B) mount it on a loader and then use the loader for down pressure.

cat 1 generaly that spec doesn't have it. Of course there is always an oddball that has some cat 2 features on cat 1 i'm not aware of any though.

Not that I know of. Some larger tractors have that feature but I don't think any of the CUTs do.

You're right about wanting it for a PHD and blade, though. I'm picturing a guy I know that would start his PHD, leave the seat, and climb up on it to get it to dig in his rocky soil (kids, don't try this at home). And I often strap a cinder block on my blade to get it to bite better.

Somehow, I recall a thread long ago about modifying a CUT for 3PH down pressure. But, I know I've seen pictures on TBN of Post Hole Diggers with suitcase weights on top for extra dowm pressure.

Thanks,

Any reason why the Manufactures of CUT havent come out witha 3pt hitch with Downpressure?? is it put stree on the frame where its not designed?
I would think it would be easy to engineer something like that.

Cost and the lack of traction of the light weight design of CUTS. Most implements will make a CUT loose traction by applying more pressure you'd about never be able to keep traction.

It would be extremly nice to have a cylinder to dampen the effects of some tillers and implements that tend to shoot out of the ground at times.

Sorry boy's there isn't at this time to the best of my knowledge a tractor with down pressure on the three point hitch. There are some post hole diggers that do have a down pressure kit available but it would also require an extra valve to operate the unit and to the best of my knowledge you would need about a 30 horse unit to run. Most times I've found dull blades or cutters as the problem of augers not going in. There is the fun of rocks to consider to.

As far as tractors go, I don't know of any. However, regarding PHD, I purchased a Bush Hog SPHD with down pressure and it works very well. I have dug over 100-12" holes 4' deep with it and not one issue. To justify the expense I tried the unit without the down pressure and wow, what a difference. I use the valve for my 4in1 wha the PHD is attached

Allied/Buhler now has a Skidsteer Quick Attach Adapter to mount on their loaders, then you would mount a PHD to it. I think the PHD is hydraulic.
