We have always had a 25 gallon tank that we pulled around on an 8ft trailer to spray the weeds in the field. There were a ton of refills, ok at least ten; and it just seemed like a bulky and inefficient way to do business. I recommended we find a better way. (Of course this way always worked for his dad; my grandpa) So it was hard to convince him to do otherwise.

Finally we started the project together by putting ideas out of what we wanted to do. We decided we needed more than a 25 gallon tank and we wanted more coverage than we initially had (8 ft).

A few weeks went by and then my dad brought this up to the property. He really surprised me how much work he put into it. (considering the other sprayer worked) He incorporated most of the ideas we talked about and also used two tanks. The rig is easy to load; after I built a stand for it. Also the sprayer now covers 16 foot and features fold up arms. Let me know what you guys think.

That's a lot of spray. What type of pump did you use? Very nice job:thumbsup:

concern is over spray from the booms. (booms being to high and allow mist to float out and away further than you want)

other concern is top heavy and rear heavy. weight of water = 8.35 lbs for one gallon of water. 25 gallon tank plus 55 gallon tank = 80 gallons = 668 lbs. but being raised up do not know if i would take it on hills. at least on my property. i would end up having myself, tractor and spray rig rolling over on top of me. or doing a wheelly as front tires come off the ground.

second boggens response boom to high, a lot of weight up high. looks like you are getting real close, safety would be my biggest concern.

I think it looks good. Might be a bit high. Just lower your 3 point. I have been thinking about building a bigger sprayer. I have a 16 gallon one and it does get old refilling alot. My counter balance on my JD 4310 has about 700 lbs. of cement. It handles it fine. What kind of a pump are you using?
