I am doing a Prairie Restoration to the front 4 acres of our place and completely replacing our lawn. That means a bunch of grass and weed killing. I borrowed a sprayer for the first round, but realized quickly that this tool was going to be a part of my life for the next several years.

After some surfing research, I was looking for a 55 gallon boom sprayer and a roller pump. I priced a few from some mail order outfits, but then ended up at my local farm supply. I paid 399 for the tank and frame, 89 for a 6 roller pump and 20 for the pump to PTO adapter. I decided to also add a hand gun, which was 30 and another 10 or 15 for the hose, clamps and fittings needed to put it altogether.

Here's the sprayer mounted.

The hub with the supply line, pressure regulator, and output had an extra outlet with a plug, which made adding the hand gun pretty simple.

There was another thread a day or two ago that brought up roller pumps. This is the mount that the old timer at the farm store suggested. The chain around the draw bar keeps the pump from rotating or stressing the hoses.

Nice project sprayer.
I have a sprayer that I purchase many years ago. One item that it has is an inline strainer. Some have it installed before the pump. Mine is installed after the pump and before the strainer. This will help to keep any debris that gets in tank from getting to the regulator and spray nozzles.
There is a thread from 2000 on the same subject. But none of the pictures that were posted then can be viewed.
I can post some pictures if it will help after the holiday.

Mine has a sediment trap underneath, on the line running from the bottom of the tank to the input of the pump. Protects both the pump and the spray nozzles that way.

I have the same set up as you do for spraying. When im done with mine,I rinse it and put some antifreeze in it. It keeps that pump from rusting up on you. Dont ask how I know this little trick.

That's the same pump that I have. The hub is different but I hope I can figure it all out. What size are the eye bolts in the pump? I got mine with just the chain and a smile. Any help, suggestions or warnings would be appreciated. What kind of pressure should I run it at? I don't have the boom now, just the hand sprayer.

I bought the eyebolts. The pump was drilled and tapped for 5/16" by 18tpi bolts. The eyebolts and snap hooks just seemed like the simplest solution.
