Looking to purchase a 3pt sprayer for my TC30. I would like booms and a wand. Any recommendations. Also, not tractor related, but in the market for sonar power fence charger, any information about brands or issues to be aware of would be appreciated.

Thanks

I looked at the three point models also. They are not cheap, and some require buying the PTO driven pump seperately. Expect to pay at least $700 for an entry level model, more for a nicer one. I ended up buying a 25 gal. Fimco from Tractor Supply that fits on my 4 wheeler. Mine has a foldable boom that covers about 11 or 12 feet. Costs about $400. I decided I would rather make more trips to refill, have the manueverability, and not tie up my tractor. Most chemicals require up to 25 gal/acre, so the feasibilty depends on your total needs.

HI,
arounf here old farm sprayers are fairly common. They usually take a little tlc/mod but i built a nice one from farm pieces i bought for about $250 with a new pump. the pump is the most likely trouble part imo.

I personally prefer the boomless nozzle ... either way a sprayer is a great tool.

A1 Mist Sprayers: 3-Point Mounted Mist Blowers

^ check out the misters first, they are made about 90 miles north of me, get better dispersion and save chemicals. The orchard just south of me uses these and says their chemical costs were cut in half, and everything is healthier.

The 55 or 60 gallon fimco 10' spring loaded folding boom 3 pt sprayers are real nice for the money. I have the 60g version that I got off CL for $300 with a cheap 4 roller pump. New ones I think are around $5-600. Those are good for small areas, get about 3 acres to a fill up depending on nozzle/pressure/speed. Either get a cheap $100 roller pump and treat it as disposable, or spring for a $400 one and take good care of it. The expensive pumps really do last much longer. I installed a cutoff on the out flow and added a hand wand to mine. I could take some pics if you like, but it is really simple.

Boomless is OK for stuff like roundup, where the rate doesn't really need to very accurate .

For anything requiring precision, like a selective herbicide application, boom is the only way to go.

I also have a 3 point 60 gal Fimco that I bought new with a roller pump and 25' wand sprayer. Got it last winter from TSC on clearence for $525 otd. Very happy with it so far. Be sure to clean it well after use and I pull the intake hose from the pump and pour some vegetable oil in and work it by hand.
