I bent the threaded rod on one and snapped the welds on the other. I could have bought one replacement and made one good one from the parts I had left, but, the single replacement screw-type turnbuckle ($65) was more expensive than the B23630 conversion parts for both sides ($57).

Edit: My old turnbuckles were hard to turn too. I often used a wrench to adjust them, quite a pain in the kiester. Therefor when I put on the trailer hitch to move the trailer full of cut up tree chunks I didn't tighten them because the bagger was going to go right back on again. Well, the trailer bucked a bit and whamo- two wrecked turnbuckles. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
