4 in 1 Bucket Or STD Bucket and separate Grapple?

I'd argue that most FEL attachments have come over from the Skid Steer anyway. People use their little tractors in ways that no manufacturer would have predicted 30 years ago.
I agree. It's just that some people abuse them and end up bending cylinder rods and/or twisting the tongue tube between the F.E.L. arms.

CUTs and SCUTs have come a long, long way.

Thank you everyone. I like your input and have decided to get a EA root Grapple and a regular bucket.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I've got a 4 in 1 bucket on a Ford backhoe. I don't find it very useful really. Grading is subpar compared to a decent blade on the back of a tractor. Using it as a dozer blade is OK. Never gotten it to work well at all as a grapple.

Lets put it this way, the cable for the 4 in 1 control broke and I've never bothered fixing it. Not useful enough to be worth extra cost, or for the extra weight.

People buy a tractor, and now smaller and smaller all the time, and think they bought a bulldozer. I admit, when we got our 6200 JD, we had the same mindset.

You can do a lot with a small tractor. You just have to know it's not a bulldozer and don't get rammy with it. People clear brush with small tractors all the time. The line between brush and trees is just a little vague for some people. As for moving earth, as long as you set realistic goals for how much and how fast, you can do a lot with just a FEL and box blade.

Good decision. I got a 4 in 1 bucket then, later, got a grapple. Knowing what I do now, I'd go with the regular bucket and a grapple.

I have a John Deere TLB110 that came with a 4in1 from the factory. It is heavy and I have used many 4n1 on Bobcats , so I know how to grade dirt with it. I borrowed a big grapple from my neighbor to clean up a brush pile and it worked great, but too big for my machine. I am currently looking for a small grapple for my Ditch witch Sk755 to keep my woods cleaned up. Its 34HP and I can zip around the treess without tearing up my tractors. Like one poster said, you can open the 4in1 up and lay it flat and skin backwards and make dirt or mud smooth as a pool table but it does come at a weight cost.
