4 in 1 Bucket?

After much consideration, I will order my 1430 in a few weeks and I want to get the "best bang for the buck" in my implement selection. BTW, I could only imagine 3 uses......what is the 4th?
What can you tell me about the 4 in 1 bucket?
What size is appropriate for a 1430?
Is it an adequate materials handler?
Does it "grapple well"?
Is it surdy enough for "blade" duty?
Has anyone mounted "teeth" on their's?

I have the 4 in 1 bucket for my 1845 - but I have not had the chance to try it out yet - maybe this weekend I will break it out - let you know what i think

I'd like to second the question... what exactly is a 4-in-1 bucket?? I've seen frequent references to them, but never was quite sure what they were...

Also sometimes referred to as a "clamshell". You might look at the pictures in this thread to see what they look like. You can dump a load by opening the bucket rather than dumping forward, and you can open the bucket, let it down over something like a log, then clamp onto it to lift it.

It is alleged by other 4 n 1 owners that you can use it as a box blade, grading forward or back, with the bucket part way open and tilted just the right amount. I've been successful at that only a little, but I've certainly not practiced enough to claim even minimal skill.

most of us who run this stuff for a living are pertty much in agreement on this one,they have a place....,they are heavy,and weak.you will loose capacity because of the weight and the this part, the high dollar.maybe on these little machines it may be all right,but i wouldn't try to make money with it.
