Things I have used my 4n1 to do that that the grapple bucket can't do-
-back blading- very useful in spreading stone and dirt as the bucket has a cutting edge and can fill from the bottom
-dumping the bucket from the bottom with more control than dumping forward
- filling the bucket from the bottom
- greater dump height, although I haven't needed it
- an open 4n1 makes a nifty dozer style blade, although the PT isn't much for pushing.
