i put the leaver in the up position ,its the leaver just above the e brake the lite on the dash lites up, but the front tires dont move

If the 4 wheel drive indicator is lit, you are in 4 wheel drive. Not sure what you mean. Are the front wheels locked up, skidding while the rear wheels turn? Have you checked the front axle for fluid level? Be sure the tractor is in gear (e hydro range selector is easy to disengage). Let us know how it turns out. The 3x20 series are great machines.

Are you saying they drag? AS I'm new to 4wd tractors, but something sounds very wrong. Do they turn when your in 2wd?

hello,
yes they roll back in forth , but when i lower the bucket down, an raise the front end off the ground and move forward & back in 4x4 the wheels dont roll
they should roll when in 4x4.
talked to the john deere dealer an he's going to take a look at it
i checked the 4x4 leaver an it's moving, the lite on the dash is lit when i ingage the 4x4
thanks

Yea, think you are on to something there, if everything is right they should be turning when up in the air....

Are you looking at both sides? They are not positract so only one side may be turning. With the wheels lifted and 4 WD engaged , can you hold one side so it doesnt turn and then turn the other wheel by hand? If you can then something is not engaged properly.

Put it in 4wd and lift it so ONE wheel only is in the air, then try to turn it by hand. If it will spin, then you have a problem.

I have a 3320, but it may be a bit earlier version because your descriptions don't match with mine.

I turn on the Mechanical Four Wheel Drive by pulling up on the orange-handled lever under the front of the seat on the left side - immediately next to the parking brake handle (also orange-colored, but with a release button on the end). I find it best to do this with the tractor moving - rather than sitting still.

To take it out of MFWD I just push the same lever back down. Releasing MFWD doesn't seem to "prefer" the tractor to be in motion.

Good Luck! I hope your tractor does not need repair.

That was very low on the part of the previous owner if he sold it with a broken MFWD. Did you have a chance to drive it before you bought it or did it break since you owned it?
