Is that a coat of wax on the inside of your bucket, or do my eyes deceive me?

Sure is a fine looking tractor you got there /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

How soild are your stacks in the tree limbs? Any chance of tearing one off or bending it.

Thanks RobS, no wax in the bucket, just freshly powerwashed after raking the land around my pond. Now the body panels are a different story. Pledge is what I use on all the plastic to keep it looking as new as possible. It is what I use on snowmobile hoods also. It actually works better than wax.

I have removed all the low hanging branches from the trees I mow around on the six acres close to my house. The 4700 is quite a bit taller than the 955 that it replaced. The outlet of the vertical exhaust is at least 10"-12" lower than the top of my folding ROPS bar.

It was delivered the end of July and I have 70 fun filled hours on it already. I have not even used it since the end of November. It just sits patiently in my barn waiting for a decent snowstorm.

Does anyone know how high above the hood this upswept exhaust extends? Where are the Chrome pipes coming from? I only see black on the JD website.

Thanks,

That looks great, I was looking at my new 4100 today and all the exhaust is blacking the left arm of my loader, and it does blow down. I have to assume this would fit my 4100.

Question, in your photo, on the left side of your bumper behind the bucket, there is a device, unpainted metal device, I have the same thing and I am darned if I know what it's for. I havn't gotten the manuals yet, still waiting on JD. Sorry to sound dumb, and im not a blond but for the life of me I don't know what it is.

Thanks, Bill

Gee that looks pretty clean. i am thinking that I want the exhause to exit at the back like my urban transportation vehicles. Anyone know what effect the longer pipe will have on my 4100's performance?

That chunk of metal is a safety latch for the FEL. It is there to make sure that the front latch plate cannot slip off of the front bumper of the tractor. I call it a "lawyer latch". It was not part of the original design of the loader. I'm sure it was added because someone did not mount or adjust their loader properly and the front latch place slipped off the bumper. Of course they would have sued Deere for their own mistake. Hope this helps.

Ya what MJB said. It is an "afterthought" as you get an installation manual with it to add to the loader latch plate. I drove around most of the summer without it as the retention pin had fallen out and so did the entire latch. I found it 3 months later out in the back of my property.

Thanks, I guess I get all this figured out. But heck it's fun.

Well I ordered a upsweep exhaust pipe and found out it won't fit a 4100 according to the dealer. What a bummer, I really wanted to change the directional flow of the exhaust.
Any suggestions?????
Bill
