I have an '08 JD 4720 with a 400CX loader. The dump action seems slower than it should be (3-4 seconds) and I'm wondering if there is a cable adjustment or something I should be looking into? Also, the stick seems to barely respond when moved into the 3 0'clock position to dump, rather, the faster action is towards the 5 o'clock.

The lockout is in the correct position, the lift, curl and all other actions are good to go. Appreciate any thoughts.

Welcome to TBN:D

Two things come to mind:

1) Make sure all the linkages are well lubricated-Fluid Film is my favorite, it last's longer than any other.

2) If the bucket is empty, it's normal for the bucket to dump a little slower if the stick is pushed far to the right because of the "regen" function of the valve. Here are two recent threads that explain it:

Thanks much. I did search prior to posting but missed these. Looks like me and rdpowell have the same setup. I read the threads and give see what shakes out.
