400x/cx with skid steer quick attach

I hate to go against the popular vote, but I prefer the standard quik tach. The SSQA adds considerable weight to the loader and front of your tractor. That effectively reduces the amount of weight you can lift in the bucket. Not only is the attaching plate heavy, but the SS buckets and attachments are considerably heavier than the comparable 400 series buckets. The only time I recommend SSQA is if you also have a skid steer and can swap attachments back and forth. FWIW

'Course they're heavier... they're made for construction work! And after a few years - 10, 15, 20 they still don't look like those pictures of the "weeny, greeny" bent up ones, either!!! :D

And what's the REAL difference... the green HD bucket is fairly heavy and the mounts on the SSQA must be all of 100lbs.

So, what are we really talking about 200lbs or less?

I ordered the SSQA on my new 5075M, too. I swap 2 buckets, forks, grapple and trailer ball hitch back and forth.

Can't do that easily with the JD system - without paying a premium over the SS attachments - and sacrifice durability.

I found a short video if the JDSS, It shows how it operates with both the manual end electric version. It's used on the SS, 110, and our CUT's

Its at the bottom of the page labled "Quick-tatch"

...now leaning toward a 72" bucket made by Bobcat for their CUT's. It looks well built, has a nice upper lip that would be very hard to bend and a nice wide top for welding hooks on. At only $750 it is priced better than Deere's HD bucket.

I was going to mention doing something like that in my previous post, but didnt know if you prefered "One Stop Shopping".. My Bro has the 68" Version of that bucket on his CT230, and like you said, its a nice bucket. BUT its no skid steer bucket. Comparing it to the Worksite Pro or other "Genuine" Skid Steer bucket is an unfair comparison. My 60" Foundry Bucket (true Skid Steer Bucket) is way heavier built and would be considered "SUPER Duty" compared to CUT Bucket. If you care about the weight thing, go with a CUT Bucket with SSQA mounts. If you want a true heavy duty bucket, go with a Genuine Skid Steer Bucket. Hey, I guess thats another benefit of the SSQA, your options are limitless!

Bingo. Also agree on your weight statement. In the grand scale of things, theres more weight on the bucket itself (on a good bucket) then the carrier. I've not been in a position or application where 100 lbs made the difference between shoveling by hand or using my loader.

I know I've done things I probably shouldnt have with my bucket, still straight as an arrow, looking good minus the paint :D

Another "Side Benefit" I see is the ease of purchasing SSQA Attachments. Much more common to find em on CL or what have you. Seems most of the brand specific attachments go with the machine when traded or sold. Its not every day I see JDQA buckets or Forks on CL, but SSQA versions are plentiful and relatively cheap.
