I picked up a 4100 Gear with a 58" belly mower. It mows great, but whenever I push in the clutch a little in order to slow down around trees, bushes, or other obstacles....it also stops the mower deck. Is this just how the 4100 Gears are designed, or is there a way to adjust the clutch so that it disengages the transmission first, and then if you keep pressing the clutch down further, then it stops the lower PTO for the mower? It sure would be nice to be able to slow down a little bit without having the mower deck stop.

This this is great for long sections of yard mowing, but it's a real pain to have the mower deck stop on me every time I need to slow down a little bit. Any advice would be great.

Thanks!

Only if you have a two-stage clutch. I don't know if that is an option, or if it is standard.
