4100 idling Rough at Low RPM

Nuru,

I'd suspect some deposits on the injectors causing them not to spray good at low rates. Would be worth trying some Chevron Techron diesel additive. I've used it twice in the life of my old Benz. Its symptoms were pinging at constant speed. Cleared it right up.

My 4010 will idle down to 1,000 and smooth. Think that's the specified idle speed on it after breakin. It's easy to reset.

I am gonna try that. After coming back from the dealer, my unit wqas idling fine down to 1100 rpm, still vibrates at 1000 rpm. I will try the additive and report back to the forum.

Thanks Roy, I am working with a local shop to get it done. They seem to be having some issue with findingg my tire's size for tubes. One of our local dealers recommend i get tubes for my tires as they will protect against sidewall separation?

I paid $197, but I also have a Dirt Scoop, so it could be used too with weights and stonees piled in it.

Just for referance, My 2520 weighs 2420# with the loader off and the 62d on.
After I weighed it, I started hauling it on my small 6.5 x 12 trailer. It has a 3500# axle and a capacity of 2800#. It fits ok and surely I'm saving fuel instead of using my 18' car hauler. JC

RollTideRam a couple of questions:

Are you saying that your trailer GVWR is 2800 pounds?
Or

Are you saying the capability of your trailer is 2800 pounds plus the weight of the trailer?

The reason i ask is that if the GVWR is 2800 pounds, that means the towing capacity is that minus the trailer's own weight?

In my opinion...yes!

That loader is going to make your 4100 feel more top heavy. Adding ballast to the tires will add weight (of course) which increases inertia...thereby more resistance to doing a side rollover. Believe me of the difference between having a loader installed and not having one. You'll notice the difference the first time you operate your machine.

Don't get me wrong. You'll enjoy your loader. They make many chores much easier!

Roy and All, I found someone local who fills tires with recycled anti-frreeze (recycled as in cleansed/strained). I plan to take advantage of the proximity to my house, so this is only 2 - 3 miles away. I will let you know how it works out.
