4100 vs 4010, 4110, 4115

If there is a web site which would help me understand the differences between the 4100, 4010, 4110 and 4115, I'd sure be grateful to hear about it. Otherwise, if someone could help me get a grasp on these, that would be fantastic.
I'm looking at buying a 2001, 4100 with 60-hrs, collar shift, 410 FEL, with landscaping tires. I'm buying from a dealer, and they are asking $11,200 with 2-year warranty. I'm using mostly for tilling between christmas trees, and landscape work. I'm concerned that maybe one of these other models would fit my need (more horsepower for the size?). Although I really haven't found any of these others with a comparable price as the 4100.

If anyone can give me their opinion on these, I'd appreciate it.

I have a 4100 with exactly the same attachments and transmission. With only 60 hours and a 2 year warrenty, that price is a steal. Buy it and don't look back. I have had mine for 2 1/2 years and have been very happy. I use a 52" rototiller on mine. Works great. The only thing that I would caution is the collarshift transmission MAY not be what you want. It doesn't have a live PTO. I have found no problem with using mine to rototill or mow, but some people would insist that a hydro is the only way to go. That's up to you to decide, whether it's worth another $2500-3000 to you. Once again, that price is great, I have at least $13,750 into mine for the same configuration. 60 hours is new and not really even broken in yet.

Was looking at a 4100 gear an 4110 HST, they were parked next to each other. The 4100 has a cast iron transaxle an steel hood, the 4110 was aluminium alloy transaxle an plastic hood...

I realize that aluminium alloy an plastic has come along way the last few year an is being used allot lately in new tractors but give the choice between the two I'll take the heavier cast iron, & steel any day.

I think if you looked at a 4100 with hydrostatic, you'd find a lot more aluminum than cast iron.

Look at the spec's very carefully. My understanding is that the 4100 has less hydraulic flow capacity , and does not have the adjustable 3PH , which means the 3PH is either up or down , nothing in between. Also I do not think it has the flow control for the rate of the 3PH drop. Which comes in handy for heavy attachments.

I spent the extra money and got a 2002 4110 HST with the 410 loader. For me collar shift / Gear was not favorable , the HST is the way to go. Very happy with my 4110 , get all the machine you can now.

Yes, the 4100 has a stop system for the 3pt hitch. I can verify that as I have a 4100 and I can control the height of the 3pt hitch.

As far as controling the drop rate, there is a control just below the seat.

The flow rate may be somewhat lower since the 4110 has a few more hp which could give you more flow capacity or they installed a different hydraulic pump.

Terry, I thought the 4110 had the same HP as the 4100, and the 4115 had more HP.

I have a 4010 and it is rated at 18HP I am fairly certain that the 4110 is rated at 20 and the 4115 is rated at 24. One of the differences I was concerned about is the type of injection system on 4010 versus the 4110. I think the 4110 has the newer type of injection (Don't ask me what it is) which I was interested in because of it's ability to operate better in colder climates. It does get pretty cold in Illinois. But I ended up with the 4010 and I am very happy with it. I think the weight to HP ratio is just abut right. The only time she ever strains is when I am doing FEL work. Somtimes the tires spin and sometimes they stop. Tis makes me think it is just about the right HP for the weight of the tractor

I just bought a 4110 HST with a loader and cutter. It has 20 HP with 17 at the pto. I wasn't too sure about the HST , the more I use it, the better I like it. Of course I spent a little more than what you are talking about (14,000) but must of us only buy one tractor. Good luck with your secision
