4110 Glow plug dashboaard indicator

When I turn the key to activate the glow plug, the light on the dash does not come on. I have checked the fuse and that is okay. I don't know if the light bulb is burned out or if the glow plug does not work. Looks like a pain to get to the light bulb, any ideas?

You didn't say if the tractor won't start, or is just hard to start; and smokes on start up. How long has this been a problem? When you turn the key, you are activating the timer, which causes the glow plugs to heat up. You should have a connection on your glow plug bar. Undo the connection and put a 12 volt tester on it to see if you have power to it. Also, do a continuity check on each glow plug. You will have to disconnect the glow plug bar to get an accurate reading for each plug.

I don't know how similar your tractor is to mine, but when I did all of the above, I discovered I had a bad timer, and two bad glow plugs.

The tractor starts and runs fine, no smoking. By turning the key to the left it is supposed to start the timer and the indicator light comes on. When it goes out I start the tractor. I will do as you suggest with the meter. Thanks for the quick come back.

If it comes to checking the bulb, it's very simple to remove the 4 screws that hold the dash panel in and lay it out, remove the bulb from the back of the dash...
